Richard Donald Weeks

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Richard Donald Weeks, announces his passing on April 25, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Besides his loving wife of 49 years, Anna, Richard is survived by his daughters Crystal Duplisea (Keith) of Norton, NB, and Sarah Weeks of Quispamsis, NB; granddaughter Alyssa Duplisea of Fredericton, NB; brothers Dale Weeks (Valeri) of Fredericton, NB, and Kevin Weeks (Tresi) of Richardson, Texas, as well as several nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Gertrude (Dorcas) Weeks, and infant sister Donna.

Richard worked for NB Power for 40 years at the Chatham, Coleson Cove, and Point Lepreau Generating Stations, retiring on April 01, 2020.

From 2016 to 2024, he and Anna operated Summer Brook Farm in Summerville on the Kingston Peninsula where they grew strawberries and worked the fields with his John Deere tractor. Although the days were busy, they leave behind many great memories.

Richard earned his 4th Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do in 2011 and did his best to live by the philosophy of the discipline. He also loved motorcycles from the age of 16 and went on many trips with Kevin, his younger brother to both the US and Ontario.

He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes and stories but most of all, he cherished his family and spending time with them. He was endlessly proud of his two daughters, Crystal and Sarah, and Alyssa, his granddaughter. He will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd., Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 12PM – 2PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 2PM in the Fundy Chapel. Reception to follow at Fundy Funeral Home after the service. For those who wish, donations in Richard’s memory can be made to the Salvation Army, St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
