Richard Charles McGoldrick

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Richard Charles McGoldrick which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Richard was born on December 7, 1948 in Saint John, NB to the late Walter and Dorothy (Williams) McGoldrick.

Richard is survived by his son Devon (Melanie) McGoldrick, sisters Cathy McGoldrick-Anthony and Patricia (James) Hebb, sister-in-law Marion McGoldrick and cherished grandchildren Brianna (Brandon), Daysen, Cayden, great-grandson Colton, special friends Tasha Duplessis and Gilbert Boyce along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his brother Russell McGoldrick.

Ricky was an avid sports enthusiast, both playing and in his later years managing and coaching. His proudest moment was when his team, the Saint John Vipers won the Provincial Championship in 2010. He loved his Vipers. He also enjoyed watching his son and grandchildren play hockey. He often could be found at the many karaoke nights in and around Saint John.

He cherished his friends and family and will forever be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 between 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fundy Chapel. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

The family has requested that masks are worn throughout the visitation and funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations towards the Diabetic Association of Canada, would be appreciated.
