It is with heavy hearts the family of Richard Mark Lavigne announce he passed peacefully while surrounded by family on November 7, 2023. Richard was born in Saint John, N.B on October 6, 1948. He was the son of the late Victor and Edna (Madore) Lavigne. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Paul, David and Fred, and brother-in-law Terry Rorke. Rick started his work career on the “Irving Glen” ship employed by J.D Irving, enjoying both the work and the travel related to his position. Following this employment, Rick obtained his plumbing licence and set off for the west coast where he lived, worked and raised his family for many years. Rick returned home to the east coast in 2001 where he continued to work for himself in his trade. He provided service to his many family members and friends, as well as the community of St. Martins and surrounding area. Rick had a great work ethic and a kind heart making himself available to anyone in need at all hours of the day and night. When he wasn’t working Rick enjoyed time at Henry Lake, family gatherings, music, travel on his motorcycle and outings on his 4-wheeler and sea doo. Rick had a fun-loving, easy-going nature and a great sense of humour, he was well liked by all that knew him. Rick was greatly loved and will be missed terribly by all, especially his children. He is survived by his children: Sheila Lavigne (Michael) of BC, Adrienne Lavigne (John) of BC, Charlyce Lavigne of BC, Richard Lavigne of BC, and Erol Kennie of BC; his siblings: Daniel Lavigne, Debbie Rorke, Lillian Jackson (Wayne), Laura Morrison (John), Victor Lavigne Jr. (Debbie), and Peter Lavigne (Stacey); his friend Carol; cherished grandchildren: Daniel and Richard Dagostinelli of BC; and Bronson Lavigne-Moniuk and Freya Lavigne-Orne of BC; special friend Linda Meehan and family.
