Reuben Clayton Wallace

The family announces the death of Reuben Wallace of Clarendon at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born and raised in West Jerusalem, NB, the family moved to Clarendon in 1954 when their property was expropriated for CFB Gagetown.  He was employed as a carpenter and cabinet maker with CFB Gagetown for over thirty years, retiring in 1993, and worked evenings at construction and renovation projects.  Breakfast over, Reuben enjoyed being outdoors: his vegetable garden, hunting and fishing, and his special place – the camp at Queens Lake.  He contributed to the life of local Baptist churches throughout his life, in more recent years as part of the Grand Bay Baptist Church.

Reuben is survived by his wife of nearly 69 years, Lorna (Perrin), their children, Michael (Susan), Craig, Rachel Wallace Nolan (Gary), and Alex (Rachel), grandchildren, Janet Wallace, Hannah Wallace Wight (Jordan), Hillary Bizeau (Brandon), Mackenzie Nolan, and Hudson, Cassidy, and Isabella Wallace, first great grandchild expected in September, sisters Rose McCully (late Fred) and Joyce Fudge (late Jim), sister-in-law, Reay Wallace (late Foster), and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Reuben was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Beatrice (Vallis) Wallace, baby daughter, Joselyn Leigh (1972), brothers, Foster (Reay), Colin (late Georgina), and Victor (late Bev), and sister, Freda (1939).

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, Saint John, with visiting on Thursday, July 16th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 at the Grand Bay Baptist Church where the funeral will be held on Friday, July 17th, at 1:00, followed by light refreshments, and interment in Hillcrest Cemetery, Clarendon.
