Beloved mother, sister, and daughter, Rebecca passed away peacefully on July 20th, surrounded by her family. Born in London, England on May 23rd, 1965, she emigrated to Canada as a child with her parents, Marie Christiane and Ismail Patel, and siblings David and Nathalie.

Rebecca graduated from the Saint John School of Nursing in 1987. She was a consummate caregiver to many patients in Saint John and Maine, as well as to her brother and parents.

A straight talker, Rebecca spoke up whenever she saw unfairness. Anyone fortunate enough to taste her lamb stew or pepper steak can attest to her giftedness as a cook.

Foremost, she was a devoted mother to her children, David and Soraya Patel-Crabtree, who were the light of her life.

She is survived by them, sister Nathalie, and niece Sophie.

A drop in reception will be held at 10 Montgomery Crescent, Saint John, NB on Thursday, July 23rd from 2-4 pm.
