Rafael Albornoz

It is with broken hearts and sadness the family of Rafael announce his passing which occurred surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday May 17, 2022 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Ecuador December of 1942 he was the son of the late Rafael Albornoz and Clemencia Ordonez .

Rafael was a loving, supportive, and dedicated husband, father and grandfather.  He had an impeccable work ethic, a man who was devoted to his family and all of his animals.

Rafael is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years Yolanda (Mancero) Albornoz, son Rafael of Saint John; daughters Dora Carrasco of London, ON and Yvonne Albornoz (Peter Perry) of Saint John; grandchildren Alexis, Samantha and Nicholas; siblings Lusmila, Sara, Gladys and Rodrigo; nieces, nephews and friends.

Along with his parents, Rafael was predeceased by his brother Efren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) By Rafael’s request there will be no visitation or service. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in Rafael’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Palliative Care,  Saint John Regional Hospital.
