With great sadness, the family of Phillip Thorne announces his passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 24th, 2022. Born in Saint John on March 11, 1937, he was a son of the late Richard and Myrtle (Pike) Thorne, and the loving husband of the late Carole Thorne.
Phillip was an avid hunter and loved harness racing. He worked for Kimberly Clark then continued on with Irving Tissue until his retirement in 2002. Phillip is survived by his loving daughters Trudy Thorne and Paula Thorne, brother Eugene Thorne, along with extended family members and friends.
He was pre-deceased by brothers Bill, David, Dick, and Leslie, as well as sisters Norma Sambles, Shirley Adams, June Goss, Connie Murphy, Carol Gray, and Nancy Levine.
Trudy and Paula would like to thank the staff of 3BN Palliative Care for taking great care of Dad, and a special thank you for all the support from family and friends.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John with visitation on Saturday from 10-11am, followed by a memorial service in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00am. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
