Peter Lawrence McAdam

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Lawrence McAdam on July 2nd, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, at the age of 60. Born on January 5th, 1960 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Henry Roy McAdam and Jean Elizabeth (Bartlett) McAdam. Peter was a God-gifted artist which was his passion in life; he also was an avid hunter and fisherman, a 2nd degree black belt and Fu-Lyn-Chi Sensei, and loved the outdoors, his family and friends, and was always down for a good party. He is survived by his devoted wife Lynn Roy, step-children Justin and Jessica (Bill), grandchildren Guy, Allyson, and Thomas; brothers Craig McAdam (Wendy) and their children Shane, Chad, and Austin, Kim McAdam (Judy), sister Kathryn Rutherford (Frank), as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and Peter’s many friends. Peter is also survived by his Roy family; in-laws Roland and Gemma Roy, sister-in-law Tina McBriarty (James), and brother-in-law Robert Roy. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Steve and Shelly Worden, as well as the nurses and staff of the CAM unit for the phenomenal care Peter received, as well as the love extended to Peter, Lynn, and their family. Along with his parents, Peter was pre-deceased by his favourite brother-in-law, Charlie Robichaud. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424). A graveside service will be held at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Woodman’s Point, on Tuesday, July 7th at 2:00 pm, Urn bearer will be Peter’s best friend Murray Power. Honourary pallbearers are Mike Comeau, Shane McAdam, Ed Ottaway, Steve Worden, Mike Clark, Darlene Oliver (Darla), and Rick Robichaud. For those who wish, remembrances to CARMA Saint John, Alzheimers Society, or the Saint John Art Society would be appreciated by the family.
