Paula Marie Woodworth

August 5, 1970 ~ May 17, 2023 (age 52) 52 Years Old

Obituary

It is with utter devastation that the family of Paula Marie Woodworth announce her unexpected passing on May 17, 2023. Born in Saint John, NB, on August 5, 1970, she was the beloved daughter of Theresa (nee Maloney) and the late LeRoy Hughson.

Family was at the core of Paula's existence, and her unwavering love for her husband of 15 years, Shawn and their son Tony, was evident in every aspect of her being. They were her pillars of strength, and she considered them the light of her life.

Paula's infectious spirit touched the lives of many and she had a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. She found immense happiness in camping at the Sussex KOA and had a knack for turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories. Paula also had a passion for shopping and enjoyed exploring the stores in Bangor, Maine, among other favourite shopping destinations. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel, and she had been eagerly anticipating a sister trip to New York.

Ever compassionate, Paula opened her heart and home to international students, making them feel welcomed and loved. She always selflessly extended a helping hand whenever she could, and she would have done anything for anyone in need.

In moments of leisure, Paula enjoyed a good game of bingo and having card and game nights with her neighborhood friends. Her laughter could just light up the room, and she was always so good at creating an atmosphere of joy and comfort around her.

Besides surviving her husband Shawn, son Tony, and her mother Theresa, Paula was like a second mother to Sonja Walsh. She had a close bond with her siblings Mark Jackson and Pam Jackson (Dana Duncan), and they weren’t just the best of friends, they were a team. She is also survived by her half-brothers Ryan Jackson, and Christopher (Marie-Claire) Jackson. Paula will be dearly missed by her mother-in-law: Catherine “Gertie” Woodworth; brothers and sisters-in-law: Kim Snow (Bobby Wilson), Gordie (Wendy) Woodworth, and Timmy Woodworth. She also leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories with her nieces and nephews: Ben (Spencer), Liam, Zoëy, Harley, Khloey, Kyleigh, Sawyer, Kristen, Kelsie (Pat), Baylie, Kashton, Kristalee (Doug), Gordie (Lindsay), Lia, Matt (Kelsey), Jennifer (Matt) and their children Emma and Laura, Jackie, and Heather.  Paula is survived by her Godparents: Leo and Jeanne Morehouse; biological father: Douglas (Adora) Jackson; several aunts uncles and cousins; as well as her special canine fur baby, Hunter Kingsley Woodworth.

Besides her father LeRoy, Paula was predeceased by her brother-in-law Randy Woodworth, father-in-law William Woodworth, grandparents, Marie and Bernard Maloney and Harold and Yvonne Jackson, and close friend Kevin Palmer.

Paula's friendships were lifelong and invaluable. She will be missed by her best friends: Leisa Mourad, Annalise Higgins, Charlene Chiasson, Raylene Allaby, Bobbi Little, Paula McNeil, and Kim Henderson.

Throughout her life, Paula's compassion, love, and selflessness shone brightly. Her infectious spirit and caring nature left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She possessed the remarkable ability to make everyone feel special and loved. A testament to her character, Paula concluded every conversation with the powerful words, "I Love You." She will be missed so very much.

Paula’s family wish to extend a personal thank you to the Emergency room staff, nurses and Doctors who worked so hard to keep Paula alive. A special thanks goes out to Nurses Tammie Turner and Amanda Paisley who were a Godsend to our family, and for giving us lots of time to say our goodbyes to our dear Paula.

We are also greatly indebted to Father Peter Osborne who graciously agreed to help us celebrate Paula's life. We couldn't imagine anyone else being there for our family.

Most of all, thank you to all of our friends and family for offering condolences, food, support and comfort during this difficult time.
