Paula M. Binette

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Paula Marie (McCarthy) Binette which occurred on Thursday, February 5th, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born on July 18th, 1946, in Charlottetown, PE, she is the daughter of the late Chester and Evelyn (Ryan) McCarthy.  Paula worked as a Registered Nurse for many years throughout her career.  She was very active in her Church community and was a member of the CWL. She volunteered at many nursing homes as well as Outflow and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Paula is survived by her sons Marc Binette (Sherry) of Fredericton and Jeremie Binette (Ashley) of Quispamsis; daughter Mara Griffin (Steve) of Quispamsis; brothers Edward McCarthy of Morrell, PE, Joseph McCarthy (Evelyn) of Charlottetown, PE, Gerald McCarthy (Andrea) of Morrell, PE, Frank McCarthy (Donna) of Morrell, PE; sister Eileen Loughran of North Hampshire, PE; grandchildren Connor, Isaac, Riley, Brianna, Brady, Julia, Jack and Clara; special friend Danny; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  Along with her parents, Paula was predeceased by her husband Robert, brother-in-law Ernie and sister-in-law Madelyn.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation being held on Monday, February 9th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (31 Gondola Point Rd.) on Tuesday, February 10th at 10 a.m.  An interment will take place in Norton at a later date.

Donations in memory of Paula may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
