Paul Shek Yan Wong

It is with great sadness that the family of Paul Shek Yan Wong, loving husband of the late Lai Wah Ma, wish to announce his passing which occurred on July 9, 2025.  Born in Canton, China on December 10, 1943, he was the son of the late Chang Chen Huang and the late Mui King Lau.

Mr. Wong was a cook and took great pride as the owner of the locally famous Far East Restaurant. He enjoyed playing the game of mah jong in his earlier years and later on spent many days at Exhibition Park Raceway. He also loved watching soccer and boxing along with keeping up on his Cantonese News.

He is survived by his loving children; son, Kaming Wong, his daughter, Alita Wong (Brad Eatman), his sister, Mei Jin Zeng, and his cherished grandson, Kai Wong, the Zeng family, the Cao family,  and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Chui Kam Wong, Shek Chung Wong, Soo Lan Huang, and Yan Ting Wong. 

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, (506-646-2424).  The family will receive a visitation from family and friends on Sunday, July 13, 2025, 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.  Interment will take place with immediate family at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Cedar Hill Extension on Manawagonish Road. 

Donations in memory of Paul may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
