Paul Corcoran Obituary

It is with heavy hearts the family of Paul Corcoran announce his passing with family by his side on Saturday June 13th, 2026.

Born on June 23, 1940, in Bath, NB; he was the son of the late Richard and Mary (Pierce) Corcoran.

Paul was educated in Bath and graduated from Modern Business College in Saint John. He was a dedicated and hard worker owning and operating “Paul’s Flower Shop” for over 35 years retiring in 2000. He had a great passion for floral design, gardening and traveling.

 Paul was twice elected FTD Canadian Affairs Committee Representative of Atlantic Provinces.

 He had been active in the community was a chartered member Knights of Columbus, #6595 Saint John East attaining the order of 4th Degree Knight with Knights of Columbus # 0616. He helped to form Knights of Columbus TV Bingo and was a past member of the Peace Prayer Group and avid supporter. He was a volunteer with Hospice Care Support and the board of directors of Fundy Funeral Home; where he was very supportive and active for many years.

Paul is survived by his loving and devoted wife of almost 54 years Lorraine (McQuade) Corcoran, son Brian Corcoran (Kimberley) and his daughter Heather Horgan (Sean); grandchildren Emma, Coveney (Emily) and Tassen and great-granddaughter Maria.

Paul grew up in a large family with 5 brothers and sisters. Catherine Sullivan (Paul), Mary Cecelia Sullivan (Larry), Charles Corcoran (Marney), Beatrice Brake and Richard Corcoran. Paul was predeceased by his sister Catherine and brother-in-law Larry.

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and community of friends.

Paul was a true visionary and creative force when it came to the floral business. He didn’t just sell flowers, he built connections, mentored staff, willingly shared knowledge and helped people to express themselves with flowers becoming a well known and trusted business within the community. He was a pillar in the floral industry and even when he retired his love of the industry continued.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation on Tuesday June 16, 2026, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday from Stella Maris Church at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Due to his dedication to community and the rising needs of those less fortunate, donations in Paul’s memory may be made to Romero House, or Saint John Food Bank.
