Patrick Joseph Richard

Patrice “Patrick” Joseph Richard, loving husband of Aline Marie (Johnson) Richard, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on January 8, 1955 in St. Charles, NB he was the son of Leona (Legere) Richard and the late Édouard Richard. In addition to his father he was predeceased by his brother Normand Richard; nephew Matthieu Richard and brother-in-law Paul Gallant.

Patrick worked for the Saint John Shipbuilding Ltd. for nine years, and was currently working for the City of Saint John Local 18 as a Dispatcher, for the last 35 years. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother Leona and wife Aline, he is survived by his sons Brian Richard (Colin), Danny Richard (Cara) and Jean Claude Richard; cherished grandchildren Hayley, Emma and Ava; brothers Adrian Richard, Joe Richard (Raymonde), Gilles Richard (Nicole), Roger Richard (Lisa) and Fernand Richard (Nicole); sister Irene Gallant; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Patrick’s family would like to thank all those at the Saint John Regional Hospital (Palliative Care) that were so kind to him and his family during his illness.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (646-2424), with visitations on Tuesday, March 20 from 4 to 8 pm and Wednesday, March 21 from 10am to 1pm. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 21 at 1pm, followed by a reception. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances in memory of Patrick may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
