Pablo Salvador Obituary

Pablo Salvador, a man of immense spirit and, in his later years, a humble heart, passed from this world on the 21st of January, 2023. Born the youngest of eight children in the Philippines, Pablo made his journey to Canada in the 1960s, where he married and raised a small family of his own.
A master of many trades, Pablo was an engineer by education, an executive by profession, and a woodworker by passion. Over the years, he created benches, decks, verandas, and gazebos of his own design with tremendous enthusiasm. And though he was small in stature, he possessed surprising strength and perseverance, which he put to use in crafting these delightful yet functional structures that would be admired for years to come.
Pablo's life was rich with both laughter and tears. Privately, he was a quiet man who enjoyed his solitude. Yet he also had a warm and affable personality that endeared him to all who knew him. He was well-known to be generous with his time and fellowship, helping many families and friends make their own journeys to Canada. He was also a dedicated and doting grandfather, who took great joy in watching his granddaughter explore the world around her.
Pablo taught himself English well enough to become an esteemed public speaker, a testament to his unwavering resolve. During his career, his forthright and distinguished bearing made him a natural leader in his field. Though his work often demanded long hours and burdensome situations, he approached every task, big or small, with the same single-minded focus — whether it was overseeing the production processes at a company or the heroic act of braving a blizzard to bring his son a Christmas surprise.
Pablo's life was filled with simple pleasures, like playing chess and cards, and he had that rare ability to turn any object into an engaging game to pass the time. He lived in many places across Canada, but his favorites were the small towns. He had a passion for good comfort food, especially hamburgers and Chinese take-out, and was a fan of old-time country music, which he enjoyed listening to on long road trips with his family. He was a man who loved to roam the forests, taking long afternoon strolls with his wife, and it wounded him when he could no longer physically do so in his later years.
Pablo passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. His memory will be cherished and his spirit will live on through the structures he built, the wisdom he imparted, and the warmth he shared.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  No services will be held at this time. Donations in Pablo’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or a charity of the donor’s choice.
