It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Owen “Lumpy” Phillip Nicholle, which occurred on Wednesday, June 24th, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on February 5th, 1962, in Norris Point, NL, he is the son of the late George and Geraldine (Payne) Nicholle. Owen was a backyard mechanic who enjoyed working on vehicles. He was very kind-hearted and always there for anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his cat Tingles.
Owen is survived by his sons Jeffery Boucher (Amy) of AB, Phillip Nicholle of NB, Christopher Nicholle of NS; daughter Angie Smith of NS; brothers Wade Payne (Valerie), Tony Nicolle (Patsy), Ronald Nicolle (Judy) all of NB; sisters Susan Myers (Raymond) of NS, Lamanda Somchanh of ON; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents, Owen was predeceased by his son Greg Boucher.
The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of 3BS at the Saint John Regional Hospital for your kindness, care and compassion. It will not be forgotten.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). As per Owen’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Graveside Service will take place at Fernhill Cemetery (200 Westmorland Road) on Monday, June 29th at 11 a.m. Those wishing to attend may meet at the cemetery. Donations in memory of Owen may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
