It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Olive Margaret Oram, at the Loch Lomond Village – Willow House, on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the age of 85. Born in Saint John, NB, on February 26, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Hazel (Freeze) Fournier. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years Ronald Oram.
Olive enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, crocheting, playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles, music, and talking on the phone. In her younger years she even enjoyed playing her NES. She had a standing date with her best friend Liz Porter on Wednesday nights to attend wrestling at the LBR. Above all, Olive’s greatest pride was her family. Nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by, and will be deeply missed by, her children: Christina (Danny), Corinna (Mike Strickler), and Connie (Hughie); grandchildren: Christina (Lisa), Melissa (Kyle), Brad (Nora), Sophie (Patrick), and Michael (Carissa); great grandchildren: Ayla, Aria, Emily, Maci, Jacob, Zayn, Kaleb, and Conner; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Olive was predeceased by her siblings: Daniel, Verna, Helen, Alice, Roberta, Gloria, Pauline, John, Doug, Charles, and Bruce, as well as many sisters and brothers-in-law. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at the Loch Lomond Village – Willow House for their exceptional care and support and friendship during Olive’s time with them. The family would also like to thank the SJRH 3CN for their exceptional care during her brief stay at the hospital.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd., Saint John (506-646-2424) Family will accept visitors on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 11AM – 12:30PM, immediately followed by a Funeral Service in the Fundy Chapel at 12:30OM. Donations in Olive’s memory can be made to the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation, or Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation.
We are relieved knowing she’s back with our dad and grandfather Ron.
