Nick W. Tarrant

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Nicholas William Tarrant announce his passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, June 15th, 2022.  Born 1949, in Newfoundland, he is the son of the late Benjamin and Frances (Murphy) Tarrant.  Nick was employed with the Canadian Armed Forces for 34 years.  He was a collector who loved fishing, hunting and playing games.  Family was most important to him, especially his grandchildren who were his pride and joy.  Nick will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Nick is survived by his loving and devoted wife Sylvia (Rennie) of 52 years; sons Scott (Jennifer) of Truro, NS, Rick (Shulilah) of Fredericton, NB, Trevor (Catherine) of Fredericton, NB; brothers Benjamin Jr. of Halifax, NS, Brian, Quint, Theo, Geoff and Darren (Rosalind) all of Newfoundland; sisters Daphne, Lillian and Carola all of Ontario, Eva and Vicki of BC, Delores of Newfoundland and Pascale of Fredericton; adored grandchildren Cameron, Mitchell, Isaac (Mercedes), Wyatt, Grace (Isaiah) and Claire; great grandchildren Landen and Oaklan; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank the Extra Mural Nurses of Saint John and the SJRH Oncology Department for their care and compassion. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  As per Nick’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  A private family interment will take place at a later date.  Donations in memory of Nick may be made to the SJRH Oncology Department or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
