It is with profound sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Nelson Choriyo Chakatya Mundangepfupfu, who died at his residence on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the age of 54. Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, on February 3, 1972, Nelson was the beloved son of Ann-Maggie Mundangepfupfu and the late Nelson Mundangepfupfu.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Nelson will be forever cherished by his loving wife, Jenna (Holder) Mundangepfupfu, and by his children, Andre Mundangepfupfu, Alex Mundangepfupfu, Nandipa (Germani), and Kayla Mundangepfupfu. He also leaves behind his treasured grandchildren, Lisa, Amari, Gianni, Alorah, Avaya, and Azaiyah, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

Nelson is also survived by his mother, Ann-Maggie Mundangepfupfu; his mother-in-law, Hazel Holder; his brother, Alban (Benhildah); his sisters, Patience (Louis) and Barbara (Kenneth); his half-sister, Chipo; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends in Canada, Zimbabwe, England, and beyond. In addition to his father, Nelson was predeceased by his brother, Ben.

Throughout his life, Nelson embraced many opportunities and challenges. A trained mechanic by trade, he also worked as a car salesman, built a successful career within the insurance industry, and pursued various ventures as a self-employed entrepreneur. His determination, adaptability, and strong work ethic earned him the respect of those who worked alongside him.

Having made Canada his home in the early 2000s, Nelson built a life centred on the values he held most dear—family, friendship, and community. He was known as someone who could always be counted on, offering support whenever it was needed. Blessed with a wonderful sense of humour and a genuine love for people, he brought laughter and comfort to those around him. Nelson had a deep passion for technology and travel – always aware of the latest innovations. A devoted Formula 1 enthusiast, no matter the the time, he could always be heard cheering on Lewis Hamilton on race day.

Above all else, Nelson's greatest source of happiness was his family. His unwavering love, guidance, and dedication will remain a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. from Stella Maris Catholic Church. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be available via livestream through the funeral home's website.

Following the funeral service, Nelson will be repatriated to England, where he will be laid to rest.

His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, laughter, and steadfast devotion to those he loved.
