With heavy hearts, the family of Neil Brooks announces his passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, April 26th, 2023. Neil was born in Saint John; a son of the late Melvina (Hooper) and Norman Brooks. He was a jack of all trades; Neil loved spending time outside enjoying nature, deep in the woods. If he wasn’t busy, he was out to “the property” as he called it. He also had a passion for restoring old cars, but his love for his family came before anything else. Neil could often be found on his favourite bench at King’s Square with his daughter and granddaughter, and he was known and loved by many. He was a devoted fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Neil is survived by his daughter Heather, brothers Brian (Kathie) and Ronnie (Jill), sister Kimberley, sister-in-law Cathy LeBlanc, granddaughters Marley and Mazie, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with his parents, Neil was pre-deceased by his grandparents, as well as brothers Wayne and Roland. Neil’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Regional for their great care of Neil during his stay, and a special thank you to Ronnie for the endless hours spent with his beloved brother in his final journey. Until we meet again!
