Nancy Watson Obituary

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and loving wife of the late William “Larry” Lawrence Watson, Nancy Evelyn Watson (nee. Dunlop) passed away on March 21, 2026, at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Saint John, NB on July 3, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Myles and Doris (nee. Carlson) Dunlop.

Nancy is survived by her children Chelsey (Shawn) Arsenault of Rothesay, NB and Cal Watson of Fort McMurray, AB; granddaughter Elizabeth Arsenault; brother Kevin (Tammy) Dunlop of Shepody, NB; sisters Karen (Bruce) Wilson of Banes Corner, NB and Sally Craft (Ernie) of Sussex, NB; sister-in-law Betty Dunlop (Brian); several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and good friends Wanda and Trent Mundie.

Besides her husband of 54 years, and parents, Nancy is predeceased by her brother Larry Dunlop, brother-in-law Gary Craft, and good friends Margaret “Bunny” (Ron) Campbell.

Nancy was a woman with a strong presence and conviction, with a keen eye for detail, and who approached life with confidence and determination. These attributes provided her with the foundation to succeed in her administrative role with Public Health until her retirement.

While at home Nancy enjoyed taking part in projects or renovations. She enjoyed overseeing these projects, making sure every detail was just right. Beneath her composed exterior, there were moments where she let her guard down, leading to some of the most memorable and humorous family memories that will be cherished.

Nancy found great joy in shopping, whether it was online or the shopping channel, it was truly her guilty pleasure. She did have a bit of a mischievous streak when it came to her latest finds, where she would often keep them hidden for a time. She also had a favorite treat, anything salty with a crunch. Nancy loved to relax with her favourite snacks having her cat Marley sit on her lap.

The family is beyond thankful to everyone who came and visited Nancy, spending time with her until the very end. The bonds you all formed with her will forever remain in our hearts.
