Nancy Butler Obituary

It is with great sadness that the Butler Family announces the passing of Mary 'Nancy' Lee (Mulherin) Butler, loving wife of the late James C. Butler, which occurred on March 28, 2022.  Born on February 1, 1941, in Limestone, ME, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Blanche (St Pierre) Mulherin.

Nancy was an exceptional and devoted wife and mother.  She was predeceased by an infant son, Timothy, granddaughter Mallory, and her beloved husband of 57 years, James.  Nancy is survived by her children; Catherine (Michael) Harding, Karen (Tom) O'Brien, Lynn Butler, Thomas (Tracey) Butler, and her very special son James Butler Jr., grandchildren; Rob, Chris, Andrew, Natalie, Andrew, Brandon and Brian, great-grandchildren; Riley, Robert, Thomas, Logan and Mikeala, sisters; Judith Wilson (Al, deceased) and Donna Light (Peter), along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was a 'stay at home mom' until all her children were all in school.  She then decided to go back to work with the Chalet School & Workshop with handicapped adults before moving on to nursing with the St John & St Stephen Church Home for over 20 years.  She completed her studies at the NBCC Saint John and graduated as an LPN.  She was also a volunteer First Responder and Driver for St John Ambulance.  She was also involved with the renovations at St Bridget’s and worked with Larch Saint John.  She was always ready and willing to help family and friends.  She was also known for her great vegetable and flower gardens.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Friday April 1, 2022, from 2-4 & 6-8pm The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday April 2, 2022, at 11:00am at St. Bridget's, Chapel Grove.
