August 18, 1940 ~ August 31, 2023 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Obituary

Sadly we wish to announce the passing of Murray James Hill on Thursday, August 31st, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  His loss will be deeply felt by his spouse Linda Graham whom he shared his life with for over forty years.  He is the proud father of Robert Hill and Stephen Hill and grandfather of Cameron and Keira.  He will be deeply missed by his sister Marilyn Campbell and her children: Kimberly (Richard) Kilpatrick and  Kevin Kilpatrick, along with his dearest friend, Dennis Kennedy.  Dear brother-in-law to Brenda Graham and uncle to her children: Geordie (Jill) Holden and their children; Ethan and Emily and Gillian (Jason) Holden Warren and their children; Hayden and Hannah, and brother-in-law Peter Graham and his Children: Christopher (Jocelyn) Graham, Jon Graham and his children and Michael Graham, he will be deeply missed by his extended family.  Murray lived a modified active life since his cardiac arrest in March of 2018.  His love of reading was prolific, always having time for his favourite sports and solitaire.   A lifetime spent creating memories, we enjoyed our time on the Ski Patrol, extensive travel including our trip to Ottawa attending the Men's World Curling Tournament back in April.  We shared the love of many German Shepherds (including one Rottie) both in Ottawa and Saint John.  His beloved career with the RCMP extended over 33 years with long standing friendships.

We celebrated his 83rd birthday at home on August 19th (Birthday August 18th) with cake, laughter and many good memories.  Both Rob and Steve had a memorable visit with him in August.  We will all miss him dearly.  He enriched many lives and in turn was enriched by his family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances.  He was the 'Come from Away Guy' who cleaned up nicely finally settling in the Maritimes.  His final resting place will be here in Saint John and also back home in Ottawa.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424).  Private Family Services will take place at a later date.  Condolences may be left at www.fundyfuneralhome.com.  Donations to the SPCA or the Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated by the family.
