Muriel Patricia Cleveland

It is with broken hearts that the family of Muriel Patricia (MA) Cleveland announce her passing on Saturday July 31, 2021 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late James and Muriel (Bonner) Adams.

Muriel was employed for 36 years with Commercial Equipment Ltd., prior to that she worked at Barnes Hopkins Ltd. She volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club and was also a former member of TOPS #3374 and the lady of Knights of Columbus.

Muriel was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed bowling and playing Bingo with her friends and neighbours and loved watching baseball.

Muriel is survived by one brother Alexander “Sandy” (Carol) of Rothesay; one sister Ann Garnett of Saint John; one son James Jr. (Christine) of PEI and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Dorothy, Marzuah (Toby), Carol, Nancy, Sharon, Esther and Georgette, also several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Muriel was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Jim Cleveland; her parents; 5 brothers Jim, Jackie, Andy, Albert and Mike; her sister May (Norman); her niece Lori Smith.

Muriel would like to express her gratitude to her neighbours whom have helped her throughout the years.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. where visitation will be held on Friday August 6, 2021 from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. A Celebration of her Life will be held in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to War Amps for children or the charity of one’s choice.
