It is with heavy hearts the family of Morton “Morty” McAllister, loving husband to Lois (Murphy) McAllister announces his passing which occurred on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Saint John on May 30, 1932 he was the son of the late Wallace and Nan (Perry) McAllister. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Louise O’Neill.
Morty was a proud employee of NBTel for 38 years. He was a member of the NBTel Pioneers, Adanac Club and the Navy Reserve Caledonia Pipe Band.
He enjoyed playing cards, watching curling and hockey and his visits to PEI with Lois.
In addition to his loving wife of 68 years, Lois, he is survived by his sons Michael (Dolores), David (Brenda) and Scott (Patricia Muir); cherished grandchildren Matthew, Danielle (Chad Long), Megan and Morgan; brother James (Sally); several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, with visitation on Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 12 – 1:30 with his service following at 1:30. A private family interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
