Michael John Griffin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael John Griffin, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on October 26, 2023. Mike was born on January 1, 1951, to the late Bernard and Patricia Griffin. He was a wonderful husband to Mary Morton, Wright, Griffin.

Mike was the most easy-going and mild-mannered person on earth. He made friends everywhere he went, especially at Bayview Int. Trucks, where he loved working in the parts department for over 25 years. Mike’s other passion was spending time with the Morton family in Cumberland Bay, especially at their trailer.

Mike is survived by two sisters that he adored, Carol and Valerie (Peter), who was by his side through it all. Also, his brother Patrick (Debbie). He loved his stepchildren Sherry and Dawn, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, especially Connor, who was like his own son, as well as his nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Mike was predeceased by his stepson David and nephews Bernie and Patrick.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Desmond, and the staff of 5CN and 4AN at the Saint John Regional Hospital, for their care and compassion to Mike.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (646-2424). In keeping with Mike’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, November 26, 2023 from 1-4pm at Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69 (714 Wilson Street, West Saint John). For those who wish, donations in Mike’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
