Michael Brent Moran

With heavy hearts, the family of Michael Brent Moran announce his passing, which occurred April 17, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Michael was born November 17, 1964, in Matapedia, Quebec and grew up overlooking the confluence of the Matapedia and Restigouche Rivers, a view he continued to hold dear throughout his life. Always up for an adventure, he left his home for St. Mary’s University, where he graduated in 1988, before moving to Saint John to begin his career and find the love of his life, Holly. Michael’s career took him to Zellers, Alternatives, and for more than 25 years he was a salesperson at Ryerson. Together, Michael and Holly made a home on Saint John’s east side and welcomed the achievement for which Michael had the greatest pride, Connor. 

Michael is predeceased by his parents George and Elizabeth (Kierstead) Moran. He is survived by his wife, Holly (Buckley) and child, Connor, siblings Sheena (Derek) Tynski, Shayne (Margot) Moran, Donna Moran, Kevin (Sheryl) Moran and nephews and nieces Rachel Tynski,  Logan Tynski, Adam Moran, Alexander Moran, and Mackenzie Moran. Michael is also survived by his beloved canine companion, Rocky, and reluctant feline roommates Hank and Spike.  The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to everyone who has reached out and assisted at this time with a special mention for Carl and Debbie Kneeland for their assistance

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, April 23, from 6 to 8pm. A Funeral Liturgy will take place in the Chapel on Thursday, April 24 at 11:00 AM.  Interment Fernhill Cemetery.  The family asks that donations in Michael’s honor be made to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation or Divine Mercy Catholic School.
