Melvin J. Legacy

Following a courageous journey through Lou Gehrig Disease, Melvin J. Legacy passed on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Melvin was born in Saint John, July 22, 1956, loving son of Yvonne (Blanchard) and the late George J. Legacy.

A loving son, a good brother and best friend. Melvin was a kind man who was not only full of life, but also brought life to others. Even with his diagnosis of Lou Gehrig Disease, very seldomly would he have a dark day and remained brave until the very end. Throughout his life, he enjoyed playing music with his childhood friend Steve Smith.

Along with his mom Yvonne, he is survived by his brother Vernon Legacy and his sister Leta (Don) Joy. Also left to mourn is his best friend, Steve Smith.

Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) have been entrusted with the arrangements. Due to the current pandemic, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time.
