It is with broken hearts that the family of Matthias Feicht announces his passing on September 27, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Austria on April 19, 1950, he was a son of the late Mathias and Katharina (Klein) Feicht. Matt came to Saint John as an infant and spent most of his life here. He worked as an operator at the Irving Oil Refinery until his retirement in 2010. Matt enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Matt will be missed by his sons Matthew (Amanda and the Basque Family) and Bradley (Becky); grandchildren Brooklyn and Kolton; brother Anton (Ann) and family (Heather, Kathy, and Andrew), sister Elizabeth (Grutzner) and family (Karl and Mark); sister-in-law Marylin and her family; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his best friend and the love of his life Lyn (nee Williams).
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd., Saint John, NB (506-646-2424) A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 6pm – 8pm. A Celebration of Matthias’ Life will take place in the Fundy Chapel on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 12pm. Interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
