Mary Lou Booker

It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mary Lou Booker, on May 9th, 2026. Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Mom’s family moved to the Salisbury Road when she was a child, and then relocated to Saint John in 1961. She graduated from Simonds Regional High School in 1963 and Teachers’ College in 1965. Mom had the privilege of influencing many lives as a teacher for over 30 years, retiring from Forest Hills Elementary School in 2002. Mom loved her home and yard, and cherished spending time with family and friends. She made many special memories in St. Martins with her best friend Ann, and loved a good cup of tea.

Mary Lou is survived by her son, Andrew (Melinda), daughter Kimberly, brother Richard, as well as her adored grandchildren, Lauren (Kristen), Ally (Olya), and Griffin, and many special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Grace and Arlie Letson, brother Bob, and sisters-in-law Lynne and Wanda.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of 3CN at the SJRH, Dr. Chris O’Brien, and the kindhearted staff at Bobby’s Hospice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424).  Family and friends will be received on Thursday, May 14th, 2026 from 11-1 PM.  A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel on Thursday at 1:00 PM.  Interment to take place at Oceanview Memorial Gardens. Donations to Bobby’s Hospice or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
