Mary "Jeanne" Morrissey

After a long and full life, but with heartfelt sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Jeanne Morrissey on October 11, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Jeanne was born in Saint John and educated in Montreal where she graduated from McGill University. Following graduation, she began a rewarding career as a teacher where she devoted her life to education. With patience, kindness and care, she provided the best learning experiences for her students.

In 1979 Jeanne married the love of her life, Donald Morrissey, who worked as an officer with CP Rail. Together they shared many happy years building a home filled with warmth, laughter, and faith.

Jeanne was predeceased by her beloved husband Donald, and parents Cecil and Margaret Mackenzie. After many years apart, Jeanne has now rejoined with her cherished Donald who will forever be by her side.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB E2J 2G3; (506) 646-2424. In respecting Jeanne’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private graveside service will be held at Oceanview Memorial Gardens.  Donations in Jeanne’s memory can be made to the Breast Cancer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
