With heavy hearts, the family of Mary Theresa Gionet announces her passing on January 22, 2026. Born in Saint John on July 8, 1948, she was the beloved daughter of the late Lange and Malvina (Gionet) Chaisson.
Theresa is lovingly remembered by her children Albert Chaisson, John Deas, Robert Deas; daughters Sherry Chaisson, Tina Chappel; her three special daughter in laws Lorina, Christy, and Christine; her grandchildren Patricia, Kevin, Matthew, Tara, Jessica, Jacob, Dylan, Deanna, Stephanie, Sonya, John jr, Michael, Jamie, Cody and Kyla and her13 great grand children. She will also be missed by her sister Stella Chaisson.
Theresa is a special, kind loving and unique woman, she didn’t just raise her family she raised a community, she took people into her home giving them an opportunity no child should be denied. Theresa is crazier than a bag of hammer’s, she was one of a kind and enjoyed the simple things in life, like playing dart’s, dancing, listening to music. Theresa knew how to have a good time, she was the life of the party in later years, you would never see her without her little dog Oreo who she loved to death Theresa was the woman with open arms.
Aside from her parents Theresa was predeceased by her husbands Bernard Deas, Jean Gionet her brother’s Jake, Kenny, and Robert Chaisson; and her sister’s Maria Vautour, and Gloria Marr.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). A visitation will take place Thursday January 29, 2026 from 12-2 pm with a Celebration of Life Service following at 2pm in the Chapel.
