Mary W. McGuire

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, Mary Winnifred (Ricketts) McGuire, which occurred on Saturday, March 15th, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born on August 6th, 1932, in Saint John, she is the daughter of the late Herbert and Doris (Dunham) Ricketts.  Mary worked at St. Josephs Hospital for over 30 years, in the Dietary Department, before retiring in 1995.  She enjoyed dancing, bowling and playing 45’s, bingo, solitaire and crossword puzzles.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Mary is survived by her children; Joanne Simpson of Saint John, Karen Daigle of Saint John, Ron Williams of Public Landing and Barbara Reid (Ross) of Nerepis; brother Ted Ricketts (Lottie) of Oromocto; 3 sisters, grandchildren Steve McQueen (Erin), Kelly Labrash (Matt), Chris Daigle (Karen), Mary Jane Gaudet, Michael Williams, Andrea Christian (Peter) and Kevin McQueen (Krista); great grandchildren & great-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  Along with her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husbands Charles Loughery and Rees McGuire; son Reg and brother Bill.
