Mary Elizabeth Halpin of Saint John, NB, born July 7th, 1946, passed away on Saturday, April 30th, 2022, at the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late George and Alberta (Ducey) Masten. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Halpin, brothers, Joseph and John and grandson, Michael Adam.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Mary (Marc Richard); 3 grandchildren, Christy, Katelyn and Nick; son, Richard (Tina); loving sister, Patricia Cramm; and brothers, Peter and James and will be sadly missed by her friend, Mike Monahan.
Mary had some health problems in her life but throughout gave much love and joy to others. She was never bitter and always grateful. She taught great lessons of compassion and how to live with kindness despite her health problems.
The family would like to thank her friend and his staff at Cozy Manor Special Care Home. They also want to thank all of Mary’s caregivers and all the staff at the St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home for all they have done for Mary these past several years.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). There will be a Celebration of Life at the interment which will take place in Fernhill Cemetery on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 10am. For those wishing to attend the Celebration, please meet at the office at Fernhill Cemetery (200 Westmorland Road) by 9:55am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory to the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home would be appreciated by her family.
