Mary Katherine (Moran) Frawley

With heavy hearts, but gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Mary (Moran) Frawley announce her peaceful passing on March 11, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  The eldest daughter of Frank and Ada (Vickers) Moran, Mary was born on June 3, 1931, in Loch Lomond, now East Saint John.  Mary graduated from St. Vincent’s Girls’ High School in 1948 and in September 1952, she married Bernard Frawley.  They began their married life on Britain Street in the South End, before settling on the East Side.  Mary was an active member of Stella Maris Catholic Church and a long-standing member and Past President of the parish C.W.L.

Mary is survived by her husband of over 70 years, Bernard Frawley; two daughters, Ann Sears and Bernadette Frawley, both of Saint John; one son, Paul (Beth) of Fredericton; granddaughters, Laura Forgrave (Chris), of Saint John, and Eryn Frawley (Rob), of Fredericton; one grandson, Matthew Frawley (Samantha), of Halifax; one sister, Carmel Burns, of Ontario; special chosen family members, Christina Vibert and Brayden Sullivan; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a brother, John Moran, and one sister, Margaret Taylor. 

Mary and Bernard spent many years travelling and enjoying time with family and friends.  She will be fondly remembered for her beautiful creations, both sewn and knit, as well as many treats which will continue to be family favorites for generations to come.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Tuesday from 4-8pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 12pm from Stella Maris Catholic Church (201 Bayside Drive).  A private interment will take place at a later date.  For those who wish, memorial donations in Mary’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
