Mark Andrew Davies

Mark Andrew Davies of Saint John, NB passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. He is now at peace.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on April 26, 1963, Mark grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick (Golden Grove). He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Marilyn Davies, and father, David Davies. Mark graduated from Simonds High School in Saint John in 1981.

In the mid-1990s, Mark moved out west, where he worked for many years and built a life shaped by independence, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. Fishing was one of his greatest joys — he was rarely without a fishing rod, always ready to cast a line, wherever life took him. He was also a devoted Red Sox and Boston Bruins fan, a loyalty he carried with him throughout his life.

Mark had a wonderful sense of humour and an easy ability to make anyone laugh. Growing up, Mum always had a hard time staying mad at him, as he inevitably found a way to make her laugh. He took simple pleasures to heart and had a special fondness for a mean bowl of Kraft Dinner, bologna sandwiches piled high with mustard, and Moms homemade hamburger in gravy, meals that brought him comfort and joy.

Mark is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Kim Zwicker (Derek) of Quispamsis and Andrea Davies of Hampton. He is also survived by his nieces and nephew, great-nieces, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.

During his time at Kennebec Manor, Mark found comfort, kindness, and a true sense of belonging. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Kennebec Manor for the compassion, dignity, and care shown to Mark throughout his residency.

At the request of the family, there will be no service at this time. A private family ceremony will take place at a later date. Donations in Mark’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
