Marjorie R. Garnett

– It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Marjorie Ruth (Dalling) Garnett which occurred on Tuesday, July 13th, 2021 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born 1926, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late James and Emily (Hope) Dalling.  Marjorie worked at Thornes as an Administrator for 26 years and she was a Sunday School Teacher for 40 years.  She enjoyed singing, cooking and spending time with her family. 

Marjorie is survived by her sons Murray Garnett (Shirley) of Saint John, Gerald Garnett of Saint John; brothers James “Jimmy” Dalling (Leola) of Moncton, Robert “Bobby” Dalling (Dorothy) of Saint John, Edward “Teddy” Dalling of Quispamsis, Ralph Dalling of BC, Donald “Donnie” Dalling (Cathy) of Saint John; sister Barbara Fowler of Upham; grandchildren Tara (Jeremy), Keith (Heather), Kevin (Kathleen); great grandchildren Jacob and Rhiannon; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.  Besides her parents, Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Murray, brother Walter, sister Isabel, daughters-in-law Lenora and Jean, sisters-in-law Doreen and Sharon and brothers-in-law Mart and Gordon.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Tuesday, July 20th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  A Memorial Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Wednesday, July 21st at 10 a.m. followed by an interment at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.  Due to limited seating, please call 646-2424 to RSVP for the service.  The service will live-streamed at the following link https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/authorise.php?k=1626708550125991  Donations in memory of Marjorie may be made to World Vision, Bobby’s Hospice or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
