Marjery Moore Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Marjery Lois Moore announces her passing at Passamaquoddy Lodge on June 28, 2026, at the age of 91.

Born in Saint John, NB, on August 19, 1934, she was one of 3 daughters born to the late Thomas Walter and Nina (née. Spencer) Thompson.

Marjery will be missed by her 3 adoring grandchildren: Matthew (Jennifer), Courtney (Andy), and Holly; great-grandchildren: Zoee, Willow, Emma, Elena, and Logan; sisters Sandra Beattie and Brenda Walsh; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Marjery was predeceased by her loving husband of 70 years, Hazen; her beloved daughter Cheryl.

Marjery was a woman with a generous heart who loved her family unconditionally. Following the passing of her daughter, Cheryl, she lovingly embraced a motherly role in the lives of her grandchildren, providing them with unwavering love, guidance, and support. She also had a deep affection for animals and welcomed each one as a treasured member of the family.

An avid gardener with a true green thumb, Marjery found great joy tending to her gardens and surrounding herself with beautiful flowers and plants. Her creativity extended beyond the garden. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and a variety of crafts, creating treasured keepsakes that will be cherished by those fortunate enough to receive them.

Music held a special place in Marjery’s heart. For many years, she faithfully served as the organist at her church, sharing her gift and enriching the worship of her congregation. She was also known for her love of baking and believed there was no better way to brighten someone's day than with a homemade treat shared from the heart.

When Marjery moved into Passamaquoddy Lodge, she found new pastimes. She enjoyed sitting outside or by the windows, peacefully admiring the flowers and plants around her. She also enjoyed birdwatching and loved seeing the different kinds of birds while listening to them sing. Marjery also liked to pass the time watching and playing TV Bingo.

Above all else, Marjery will be remembered for her kindness, her creativity, and the unwavering love she gave so freely to her family and friends. Her gentle spirit and caring nature will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Passamaquoddy Lodge for the unconditional care and support shown to Margie throughout her time at the lodge. While living at the lodge, Marjery developed a special bond with Oscar, one of Passamaquoddy Lodge's resident cats, who always enjoyed spending time with her in her room. During her final moments, Oscar came to her bedside to comfort her and say his goodbyes; a beautiful and touching moment for everyone.

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB E2J 2G3; (506) 646-2424.
