Marie Theresa Morrison

Marie Theresa Morrison, age 79, loving mother of 3 children; Jamie (Gayle), Stephen (Jo-El), Kevin (Lisa), 7 grandchildren; Jake. Tristan, Emily, Nathan, Doug (Jodi), Dru (Ally) and Austin (Shanice), great grandchild Emerald and adoring wife to husband Maurice (pre-deceased), passed away in the early morning hours of January 6th, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer.

She battled the disease in the same way she approached life, never inflicting her burden or pain on others. Marie spent her whole life caring and worrying about others. Early in her life she lost her mother whom she cared for and even after 6 decades she would speak of her mom as though she had just passed, she loved her dearly. She had no problem taking a back seat to everyone else in the family and she nurtured and cared for us all with a love that was pure and unselfish.

Marie loved plants, walking, dancing, reading and having a drink with Dad. She was an avid reader of mostly mystery, true crimes and autobiographies, but she would devour any book left within reach. She also journaled, writing down even the smallest of events and she loved to write and receive letters from friends and family.

She also loved to laugh and be around other people even during her stay at the nursing home she quickly became loved by all that cared for her.

In life some people find their real soul mates and Dad was that to her. Mom’s life was committed to him and when he passed it was obvious that a large piece of her went with him.

We cannot talk about mom without mentioning her faith, she loved Jesus and she walked and talked with him her whole life and we find great comfort that Mom is with God in Heaven and those she loved.

You find it hard to put into a few short words a person such as Mom, she was a simple women who in her own simple way had a huge impact on everyone she met, through kindness, tenderness and by loving us all with all of her heart. She lived her life in the very best way, and she we will be so missed by all her family and friends.

Until we meet again, we will miss you dearly.
