After a long and fulfilling life, the family of Marguerite Marie (Burbridge) Noël announces her passing on March 20, 2025, at the Loch Lomond Villa, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 24, 1926, in Pokemouche, NB, to the late Richard and Lydia (Ferguson) Burbridge.
Marguerite was the heart of her family, a woman whose unwavering devotion was deeply shared by her many children. Despite her small size, she was a force of nature. She loved the simple joys of life: a good meal, the friendly competition of a card game, and country music, which kept her dancing well into her nineties. She was a skilled seamstress and made many blankets for her family, putting love into every stitch. Her baking, especially when it came to meat pies and bread, was legendary. Faith was important to Marguerite, and as a devout Catholic, she lived her beliefs with quiet strength. Marguerite was a remarkable woman whose character and legacy were both rich in fond memories, laughter, and love. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by five generations of family: her children Laurent, Brenda (Fernand), Linda (Jean-Guy), Gisele (Émilien), Clifford, Rhéal, Johanne (Gary), Theresa (Larry), Elmer (Sandy), Marie-Line (Bruce), Nicole, Raymond (Sue), and Maureen (Monique); 54 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; her sister Rita Savoy; her best friends Billy and Lori; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Donat; her daughter Gloria (survived by her husband Bob), her grandson Jon Roussel (survived by his parents Linda and Jean-Guy); and her daughter-in-law Maureen (survived by her husband Laurent), and her son-in-law Jean-Guy Vieanneau (survived by Brenda); her sisters Martha Smythe, Nancy Monzerolle, Agnes Witzell, Theresa Burbridge, and Ella Robichaud; and her brothers Bernard, William, and Edward Burbridge.
The family wishes to express their special thanks to the wonderful staff at Loch Lomond Villa and Birch House for the amazing care, compassion, and kindness they provided to Marguerite during her stay.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424), where visitation will be held on Monday, March 24th from 2-4pm & 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Stella Maris Church on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 11am. Interment will be held at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations in Marguerite's memory may be made to the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
