The family of Marguerite Grace Harris announces her passing on August 3, 2026, at Rocmaura
Nursing Home in Saint John, New Brunswick, at the age of 91.
Born on May 27, 1935, in Waasis, New Brunswick, Marguerite lived a life devoted to her family,
her faith, and her community. She was a remarkable homemaker whose love and care created a
warm and welcoming home for all who knew her. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith
were evident throughout her life.
Before retiring, Marguerite dedicated more than 20 years of service as a ward clerk at Oromocto
Public Hospital. She was a founding member of Morning Gate Church in Fredericton, NB, where
her faith and commitment touched many lives. She was also an active member of the Oromocto
River Valley Snowmobiling Club and found great happiness in spending time outdoors. Whether
boating, camping, baking for family and friends, or simply enjoying nature, Marguerite embraced
life’s simple pleasures with gratitude and enthusiasm.
Marguerite was predeceased by Cornelius Charley “Neil” Harris, her loving husband of 56 years;
her parents, Everett Grasse and Greta (nee Boyle); and her beloved sister, Patricia Kenney.
She leaves behind her loving sons, Donald (Joyce) of Fredericton, NB, David (Donna) of Fort
Saskatchewan, AB, and Michael (Dorothy) of Saint John, NB; her dear brother, Earle (Linda) of
Waasis, NB; her cherished grandchildren, Melanie (Justin), Melissa, Christopher (Kathleen),
Heather (Shawn), Ryan (Tanya), Sarah, Madelaine (Dianna), and Gemma (Tim); as well as 21
great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride
and joy.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, strong faith, selfless devotion to her family, and the
countless lives she touched through her compassion and quiet strength. Her legacy of love,
service, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to the compassionate staff of Rocmaura Nursing
Home for their care and kindness shown to Marguerite during her time there.
A celebration of Marguerite’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of
flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
