Margaret (Peggy) Sullivan passed away peacefully at 90 years young, January 6 at the Kenneth Spencer Memorial Home in Moncton. Peggy was born in Fredericton and was the daughter of Harold Jewett and Margaret Rattray. Mom spent her early years as a secretary and also served time as a WREN after the war. She spent just over 50 very happy years married to Ken Sullivan, living in Saint John, where they built a wonderful life together.
Peggy was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was happiest when they were all together. She is survived by her daughter, Jill (Michael) MacKenzie, Halifax and her son, Glen (Heather) Sullivan, Moncton. Besides her children, the love of her life were her grandchildren: Floyd Erin, Matthew (Rachel) and Jeff Blaikie; Katrina (Jessie) and Samantha Stiles and Beth Sullivan. She also adored her three great granddaughters: Avery and Olive Peyton and Spencer Blaikie and was looking forward to the birth of the fourth in March.
Peggy was predeceased by her loving husband, Ken, who passed away in 2009, her parents and brother Bob Rattray.
Peggy’s family would like to especially thank Laura Bonney for her love and visits with mom over the past few months. Those visits meant so much to her and she was always so excited to play “Upwords” with Laura. We appreciate the care and friendship you gave Mom. We would also like to thank the staff at Spencer’s on Birchwood wing for the care she had over the time she was there. A special thanks as well to David Griffin for his wonderful care and help with Mom while she was still living at home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). The funeral service will take place at the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 30th at 2:00pm.
