Marcel Joseph Doucet

With heavy hearts, the family of Marcel Joseph Doucet announces his peaceful passing on August 27, 2025. Born in Saint John on November 1, 1941, he was the beloved son of the late Arthur and Rose Anne (Leblanc) Doucet.

Marcel is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Shirley (Cameron) Doucet; his three sons, Marcel Doucet Jr., Michael Doucet, and Robin (Jill) Doucet; and his cherished granddaughters, Makalah and Sophia. He is also survived by his sisters, Bertha Bonin, Louise MacInery, and Loretta Doucet, along with sisters-in-law Francis Bailey and Bonita Snodgrass. Marcel will also be missed by his feline companion, Meow. 

He was predeceased by his brothers Raymond and Gerald Doucet, and sisters Mary Doucet, Clara Doucet, and Josephine Bordage.

Marcel was a passionate antiques dealer and proud owner of his business since 1975. Outside of work, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and had a lifelong love of music. He often played guitar, first at Saint John the Baptist Church and later at Stella Maris, where he contributed to fundraising efforts for church restoration.

He was also a member of the Saint John Coin Club and a dedicated stamp collector—interests he pursued with joy and enthusiasm.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 3, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 3:00 PM in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel.
