Malcolm Edward Blakney

With heavy hearts, the family of Malcolm Edward Blakney announce his passing which occurred on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Nova Scotia on November 13, 1941, he was the son of the late Curtis and Almeta Blakney.

Malcolm will be deeply missed by his wife of 62 years, Helen Blakney (Gillespie); his sons Steven Blakney (Gloria), Kevin Blakney; brother Jackie Blakney; sisters Betty Ann Nickerson, Helen Hutchison, Brenda Blakney; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Thomas and brother-in-law Walter Nickerson.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB, with visitation taking place on Monday, March 9, 2026, between the hours of 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Donations towards Bobby’s Hospice, S.P.C.A, or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
