With heavy hearts, the family of Maizie Mary Marie Williams announces her passing on May 4, 2026, at Bobby’s Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Charlotte County, New Brunswick, on March 28, 1953, Maizie was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Alice (Laking).
Maizie will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Amanda (David) Boudreau and Ashley (Danny) Fair, and her special granddaughter, Keisha Boudreau. She also leaves behind her brothers, Eldon (Irene) Hicks, Vincent (Margaret) Hicks, Royal Hicks, Wayne (Judy) Hicks, and Maurice Laking, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Maizie was full of life and found joy in the simple things. She was an avid bingo player in St. Stephen and had a passion for toll painting and crocheting. A devoted fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, you could always count on Maizie to be watching the game. When baseball season was over, she enjoyed curling matches just as much.
In addition to her parents, Maizie was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Burns; her brother-in-law, William Burns; and her sisters-in-law, Betty Laking and Margaret Hicks.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). In keeping with Maizie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service at this time.
For those who wish, donations in Maizie’s memory may be made to Bobby’s Hospice.
