Maddy Murphy

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Maddy Murphy which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, September 16th, 2019, surrounded by her loving family and friends.  Born 1998, in Saint John, she is the daughter of Mike and Mindy Murphy.  Maddy graduated from Rothesay Netherwood School in 2016.  She worked at the Rockwood Park Golf Course, Vito’s and the Saint John Marina.  Maddy was a true athlete and excelled at Hockey, Soccer and Rugby.  She participated in the Canada Games in Prince George and also played hockey for Team Atlantic.

Along with her parents, Maddy is survived by her partner Chyanne Murray of Saint John; sister Megan Murphy of Quispamsis, twin brother MacKenzie Murphy of Quispamsis; paternal grandparents Rose and John Murphy; aunts Chelsea Hussey (Craig), Keely Polenz (Jeff); cousins Lauren, Morgan, Reaghan and Ava; as well as several friends and extended family.  Maddy was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Michael and Susan Cunningham and uncle Joseph Murphy.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Friday, September 20th from 2 to 8 p.m.  A Memorial Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, September 21st at 10 a.m.  Interment will be held at a later date.  Donations in memory of Maddy may be made to Canadian Mental Health Association, SPCA-Animal Rescue or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
