It is with heavy hearts and appreciation for a life well lived, the family of Lorne Melvin Totten announces his peaceful passing which occurred on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at his residence. Born in Barnesville, NB on January 23, 1930 he was the son of the late Ruel Stewart and Anna Belle (Verner) Totten. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Shirley (Sommerville) Totten, second wife Marlene (Godsoe) Totten; son Melvin Stewart Totten; son-in-law Robert Ernest Isbill; brothers Norman, Leonard, Roy and Cecil; infant sister Joyce and sister Elma.
Lorne worked as a Longshoreman for many years. He loved his homestead and his horses, especially taking them to many exhibitions for Horse pulls. He had great faith and attended Seventh Day Adventist Church for his entire life. Lorne’s love of life and his family was most important to him.
He is survived by his loving wife Odette (Guignard) Totten; his daughter Sharon Isbill; daughter-in-law Karen Totten (Bruce Kilpatrick); sisters Lois Perry and Vera Northrup; brother Robert Grant; cherished grandchildren Cory (Debra), Shawn (Corinna), Carol (Tara), Carrie (Derek), Crystal (Sean) and Colleen (Ian); great grandchildren Claire, Quincey, Maxson, Lauryn, William, Meghan, Jessica, Jazlynn, Jaxson, Mackenzie, Isaac and Noah; stepchildren Bruce (Sue), Russell (Jackie), Darlene (Carl), Danny (Liz) and Stanley (Jenny) and extended Nicolle Family; many nieces, nephews and friends. Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Sunday May 2 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will take place in the Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery, Barnesville on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 11 a.m. Donations in memory of Lorne may be made to the Dialysis Unit SJRH or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
