The family of Linda Arlaine Belyea, age 74, would like to announce her passing, which occurred at St. Joseph's Hospital on March 3, 2026, in Saint John, New Brunswick, after a brief illness. Born on February 16, 1952, to the late Roy and Shirley (Godsoe) Makenney.
Linda was a devoted mother to Sarah (Matthew) Sullivan and loving grandmother to Mason and Reid Sullivan. Linda is survived by her sisters Martha Hughes and Margo (Bruce) Rodgerson, and she was predeceased by her brother William (Laurie) Makenney. She will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews Andrew Hughes, Jennifer (David) Phillips, Tyler (Shiloh) Makenney, and Cruise (Mallory Legere) Makenney, and great-nieces Lily, London, and the newest member of the family, Vera.
Linda was family oriented and loved her grandchildren. When she wasn’t spending time with her family, she could be found reading a great book or on the ice curling. When Linda got a little older, she took up stick curling. Linda also loved to watch curling, golf, and tennis on television. Upon graduation from SJHS, Linda went on to further her education with various courses through NBCC and Microsoft. Linda worked for JD Irving Ltd for the majority of her career in various divisions, first as a computer programmer, teaching Microsoft courses, and then working for JDI’s IT desk.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at St. Joseph’s GEM unit.
