Lillian Darlene (Moore) Depas

On July 13, 2026, Darlene Depas passed from this life at the  Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family. Darlene was born to Alice and Robert Moore on October 22, 1952, in Saint John, NB. 

Darlene leaves behind her three children: Janelle Flanagan (Gary); Denise Cuesta (Josh) and their daughter Emma; and Bobby Cuesta (Jaimee) and their daughters Charlie and Andi. 

She also leaves behind her brother, Rev. Douglas Moore (Marie) and their four children—Hon. Rob Moore (Melinda), Ruth Woodson (Bryan), Rebecca Moore, and Sam Moore (Cheryl)—as well as many great-nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind Maurice Depas of Raleigh, North Carolina.  Darlene also had a very large group of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.  

Darlene first attended Zion Bible Institute in Rhode Island. She was very proud of her travels, and the years she lived in the United States, particularly her time in New York City. She then returned to Saint John to raise her family and to pursue her nursing career in 1990. As a single mother, she remained devoted to her family. Being a mother and a Grammie was her heart and soul. Her Christian faith was the foundation of her life, and she found lasting hope and peace in her Savior, Jesus Christ. She also loved her dogs Sasha and Reese and her many grand-kitties. Despite her struggles with health issues, she was a devoted nurse and NBCC college tutor. Her legacy will live on through the love and care she so freely gave to others. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. Saint John NB (506-646-2424) where visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home on Friday, July 17, from 2–4 and 6–8. The Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, July 18, at 11 a.m., Grace Valley Church 185 Pettingill Rd., Quispamsis, NB with a reception to follow. Donations may be made to the SOS Strays of Sussex, NB or the Saint John Learning Exchange.
