Les Dunham Porter

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Leslie Dunham Porter announces his passing, which
occurred on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Bobby’s Hospice in Saint John. Born in Saint John, N.B.,
he was a son of the late William Roy and Jean (Leslie) Porter.

Les is survived by his loving wife, of 39 years, Jo-Anne (Williams) Porter; daughter Leslie Porter; son
Ryan Porter; brother Donald (Judy) Porter; grandchildren Melonie and Kaylie Desjardins, Ethan
Lagace; brothers-in-law Ronald (Janice), Lewis (Judy), Mark and Michael Williams; sisters-in-law
Patricia Porter, Celia Porter, Sharon McKenna, Heather (Michael) Leblanc, June Dempsey; several
nieces and nephews; and many of his extended family and friends.

Aside from his parents, Les is predeceased by his brothers David and John Porter, brothers-in-law
David McKenna, and Curtis Dempsey.

Les was a proud member of I.L.A. Local 273 for 43 years and Vice-President of Checker Division,
and made a strong impact in many people’s lives. He was first and foremost a very proud family man
who adored his wife, children, and grandchildren. He enjoyed time with his family, golfing, camping
at Scenic View Campground, bingo and other activities. Les was also proud of his 43 years of
service at the Port of Saint John.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Michael (oncology), his family physician Dr.
Donald Andrew, and all of the special care that he received at the Saint John Regional Hospital and
Bobby’s Hospice.

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home. In keeping with his
wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of life will be announced at a later
date. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby's Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
