Leota Mae Frigault

With heavy hearts, the family of Leota Mae Frigault announces her peaceful passing on June 25, 2026, at Rocmaura Nursing Home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, on September 21, 1938, Leota was the cherished daughter of the late Roy and Irene (Sherwood) Hanson.

Leota also known as “Little Iodine” will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Gregory (Carol) Frigault, Stacy (Judy) Frigault, and Timothy (Kathy) Frigault; her daughters, Beverly Dean, Cathy (Paul) Doucette, and Tammy (Jason) Miller; her 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her extended family and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Leota dedicated many years of service to the Saint John General Hospital and later to New Brunswick Community College, where she worked in the Dietary Department. She was also a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Branch 53.

Leota found great joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved a good game of bingo, enjoyed playing cards, and cherished time spent camping. Above all else, she treasured the moments shared with her family, especially during gatherings and celebrations, creating memories that will be held close for years to come.

Aside from her parents Leota was predeceased by her husband Joseph Ovide Frigault; son Michael Frigault; sister Dorothy Breen, grand daughter Kaitlyn Doucette and John McGovern (Beverly)

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of Rocmaura Nursing Home for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion shown to Leota throughout her stay.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). Visitation will take place on Monday June 29, 2026, from 4-7. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday June 30, 2026, at Stella Maris Church at 1:00pm.
